The breakfast was outstanding, with a huge range of options, and dinner was very good and served professionally. It’s a modern hotel built within an old city house, right in the center. The standard felt close to Hilton level, and the price was on a European scale, like hotels in Vienna. I enjoyed my stay a lot!

We had lunch at Aplaus today and the food was terrible. The broth was far too salty, and the risotto was undercooked, so salty it was inedible. It was really disappointing given the standard, and no compensation was offered. Please pass this feedback on to the chef.

The breakfast buffet had a great selection, enough to suit anyone. The room was really clean and quiet, and the hotel is nicely located close to the city center.

The place feels lifeless. There was no one at reception to accept an Amazon package, and I could hear everything through the walls from nearby rooms. No cleaning, and there wasn't even anywhere to get coffee during the day. Nobody speaks English. I didn't like it.

We had a lovely meal in calm, tasteful surroundings, with a menu full of interesting choices and a really extensive wine list. The food was excellent in both quality and presentation, and good value by Western standards. Wine ranged from fairly priced to very expensive; our mid-priced Chablis was delicious, and I imagine the top-end bottles are something special too. The staff were attentive without hovering. Paying with a birthday voucher was the one frustrating part. It came in a lovely little display box, but any amount beyond the voucher had to be paid in cash. I can't understand why you can't split a payment between a voucher and a card. Still, I'd very much recommend the restaurant.
