Apartmány Pod Zálesím

We keep coming back to the Kareš area. For a winter holiday near the ski slope, the Kareš accommodation offers a discount on ski passes and wellness. Pod Zálesím sits right on the main road through Loučná, which suits us in winter: it's beside the road, about 1500m from the slope, or around 600m on foot via the bridge and forest path. We prefer Mr. Kareš's cottages, which are closer to the ski area. In summer, needing to drive to go hiking is a downside for us, though it may suit others. The apartments are spacious and clean, each with a bathroom and kitchenette, and parking is right beside them. The nearest supermarket is 2.8km away, CBA in Loučná, with another in Losiny. One recurring annoyance is the limited equipment: during our stays, apartments have been short on cups, bowls, or other items. The mattresses are hard too. Small issues, though, and at least the knives are well sharpened 😀.

I was satisfied overall. The rooms were warm and tidy, parking at the guesthouse was easy, and the administrator was helpful and easy to talk things through with. There's a fairly wide range of services, and a cot is available for an extra fee. Some kitchen and bathroom items are quite worn and look old, but the price reflects that.

Our family stayed in the VIP apartment, which was spacious and had a billiard table the kids thought was amazing. The main annoyances were a really creaky door, especially noticeable at night when going to the toilet, and a mattress that felt quite hard to us, though that's a matter of taste. Since the apartment was on a floor below other rooms, we could hear people walking overhead.

The apartment was large, clean, quiet, and had fast Wi-Fi. The staff's hospitality was a real highlight. We asked at the last minute if we could use the wellness area, and they arranged it right away. The Finnish sauna was great, and there were nice spaces to relax. Trombly is a great restaurant just a few meters from the hotel. The booking photos for the individual rooms were a little confusing, but that's a small issue and can surely be sorted out by asking.
