Hotel Koliba

We were staying in an apartment next to the hotel and tried to have dinner at the restaurant on two separate days. It was almost empty, but the waitress rudely told us there were no free tables and that they were only for hotel guests. The place and staff felt really unfriendly.

The kitchen closes too early.

We left satisfied, and the staff did a lot to make things easy for our two-year-old, who found the dining experience annoying and had demanding needs. I especially want to mention Ondřej Mazal, a young waiter who always seemed to know what would help our little one get through the meal. Everyone was accommodating, listened to requests and willingly handled them. At Christmas 2024, the chef even spoke with guests directly to agree on what each person wanted, and always lifted the mood. Dinner was hearty, while breakfast was weaker. The place is clean and affordable, with a mix of tourist, cottage and retro feel. You can hear people talking and laughing in neighboring rooms, so bear that in mind. One thing we really missed was a children's corner, perhaps in the entrance hall or a corridor nook. Maybe next time?

We arrived to find out there weren’t as many rooms as we had booked. I’ve never had that happen before, and the owner handled the problem terribly. The rooms were dirty, and the towels and bed linen smelled. Even the staff seemed horrified by how the owner dealt with the accommodation issue. I’ve never experienced an owner acting as cowardly as the one at Koliba Pension. If you can, avoid this Pension.
