Penzion Speedway

The breakfast was awful: just three rolls for two people and a few slices of salami, and the ham smelled bad. There was no lemon with the tea and nothing hot to eat. The shower only ran in a weak trickle, and water was restricted. There wasn't any soap, either. The beds were old and worn, with springs digging into my back. We only caught the owner for three minutes when we handed over the keys. Charging 400 CZK for a Chihuahua seems quite unreasonable to me.

We had a really nice late afternoon in the garden, with lovely sunshine and surprisingly little noise. The service was very nice by today's standards. The food scored 9.7 out of 10: baked goods, different cabbage dishes and dumplings for a hundred? Great. A children's portion with fried food cost 130,-. The beer was a treat too, a quality Pilsner on tap after a long time, served in a chilled, sanitized half-liter glass. The Baroque tap runs on biogon, simply a fairy tale. At 41,- per half-liter, the price was great. Even in Pilsen you can't get better beer, by far. I'd compare it with tank beer. They even gave us schnapps for free at the end, just as it should be. We'll definitely return. Thank you, Speedway pension.

It's very clean here, and the equipment may be a little dated, but everything works. The pension has a new owner, so there is still plenty to do, but they're handling the work well. The staff are great and all make an effort to help guests feel at home. Fingers crossed that things go well for them.

The staff were attentive, and breakfast was decent and filling, so it's a good place to spend a night. For a longer stay, though, I wouldn't find it comfortable. There was no hot water, and the bathroom had no toiletries apart from hand soap or a hair dryer. My child's bed came apart while he was sleeping, and the bed linens were the wrong size.
