The rooms and hotel are worn down and badly need renovation. Walls are very thin, so we could hear everything from the hallway and next door, and getting a good night's sleep was difficult. There was nothing positive to highlight from our stay. We were there for an event at the hotel, hoping for a pleasant visit, but the accusations and treatment ruined it. One room's door was already broken when we arrived, and we reported it straight to reception. After dinner, a receptionist accused us of kicking it in and vandalizing the property. She called us liars, wouldn't hear our explanation, and said we could leave without a refund. It was demeaning and hostile. Management never contacted us to resolve this. Instead, the hotel called our event organizer in the middle of the night about the alleged vandalism, even though the organizer had nothing to do with our private booking. After that confrontation, staff ignored us for the rest of the stay. No one greeted us or even made eye contact, at breakfast or elsewhere. With such serious accusations and so little service or professionalism, we strongly recommend staying far away from Hotel U Beránka Náchod. This was the worst hotel experience we've ever had.

The restaurant and its delicious food are the real highlights, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and pleasant. The hotel is fantastic too, with comfortable rooms equipped with everything you might need. Its décor has a bit of a past-century feel, which adds to its unique charm. Right on the main square, it also has breathtaking views.

For my one-night stay, the room was comfortable, nice and clean. It wasn't fancy, but it didn't seem neglected. Breakfast was simple and good quality, and the location worked well for my needs, though finding parking can be difficult at some times. The staff were very friendly and spoke English well, which was a nice bonus. One small downside was the room key. It's a large, actual key, so you have to remember to lock the room when you leave and carry the bulky thing around all day.

The building is lovely inside and out, and the staff were nice. We enjoyed the coffee and cake, too. But the kitchen smell in the cafe wasn't pleasant, and Czech local radio was playing when we visited, which spoiled the mood a bit. A place this beautiful deserves music that fits. We had a good time overall, though the little details matter.

The Apple strudel was the standout, and the staff made us feel welcome. We stopped twice, once for lunch on New Year's Eve and again for coffee on New Year. Lunch was tasty, with plenty of vegetarian choices, including salad, pasta, and the Czech dish smazeny syr. The place has a great atmosphere, and the service was excellent. I'd recommend it if you're passing through or visiting Náchod.
