Hotel Gól garni

During my stay it was quiet and peaceful, and there's a Lidl nearby. The hotel is close to the stadium, though, so matches could make it noisy. It takes about 10-15 minutes to reach the city center, and the prices are reasonable. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and well kept, and the beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly, and breakfast is available to buy. With the shared bathroom option, you share with one other room. You enter through a hallway with the bathroom, a separate toilet, and large wardrobes before reaching your room. There isn't a kitchenette for making tea or heating anything.

My three nights at the Gól Hotel, from 14.8-17.8.2025, left me without a full night's sleep. The first night someone was running around in the hallway after 10 pm. The next, there was a concert next door. On the third, a group kept shouting outside during a bachelor party until about 1 am. Then, out of nowhere at 5 am, someone pressed the fire alarm button. Three fire engines arrived, and the siren blared for 45 minutes. You can't exactly sleep through that. When I asked the receptionist at checkout what compensation there'd be for putting up with all this, I was told the manager hadn't said anything. Then I got the question, "Was everything okay?" No, it really wasn't. Even a simple bottle of wine would have helped soften the whole experience. It's about the principle and the attitude. To be fair, there were some good points: the location is nice, a little outside the center; I had a pleasant apartment overlooking the stadium, with air conditioning and a bathtub; there was parking; and the price was great. Breakfast was simple, but the ladies kept replenishing everything and it was nice. The cleaning was poor. I had to wipe all the shiny kitchen surfaces myself with a damp cloth on arrival, and there were probably noodles scattered around. The room wasn't swept once in three days. They did change the towels and replenish the paper.

We needed somewhere for one night at the last minute after arriving in Olomouc, and the receptionist kindly let us check in an hour early. The rooms are good value for money. When the shower drain was clogged, they fixed it within five minutes. The breakfast buffet was very good. The second receptionist in the morning was less friendly, but everything was still perfectly fine. 🙂
