Hotel Palác

The room stayed quiet despite facing the street, thanks to its thick concrete walls. There was also a small kitchen with plates 🍽️ and cutlery 🍴. For a three-star hotel, it's perfect.

Breakfast had plenty to choose from, with lots of fruit and vegetables, and the scrambled eggs were especially good. We also found a parking space right outside, though it was paid street parking on weekdays from 8 to 18 and free at other times. Our weekend stay was really pleasant. The room was roomy, had plenty of storage and a nice cathedral view, and the bed and Wi-Fi were good. The main square is about a 15-minute walk away. The automatic hallway light was the one thing I didn't like.

The location, price, breakfast and bed were all good, and the desk staff were nice. The two things that bothered me were the lack of blackout curtains or blinds, though that seems common in Czechia and Slovakia, and the noise at night. There's a pub opposite in the small street where people were shouting until 2 a.m., and the church bells also rang in the middle of the night.

The room was spacious and clean, and I slept wonderfully. The hotel was better than I expected. Reception could use some improvement, though. The women sit hidden behind the wooden structure and seem to avoid eye contact instead of welcoming guests. I’d suggest better front desk training and a more open, lighter reception setup.
