Hotel Kolonie

The staff were professional, and both the hotel and the food were very nice. Everything was clean.

The breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with a real selection for a 3-star hotel. We had a studio with a kitchenette, and the room's bathrobes were a nice touch. The hotel has parking, and there's a self-service supply of food, drinks and other things to have when you're hungry. Drinks include draft beer, ice and coffee from a machine, and there's quite a lot to choose from. You just report honestly what you take. We didn't try the jacuzzi or sauna. The only thing we'd mark down is that the mattresses were far too soft for us.

The location was a real highlight, with Lysá hora visible from the window and a hiking route nearby. We enjoyed our stay and found nothing that spoiled it. Studio 15 had a great kitchenette and fridge, and the bathroom heating rail came in handy after the rain. There were a few little cobwebs on the ceiling, though. The whole hotel was quiet except for the first night, when someone played loud party music past 10. We couldn't tell if it came from the hotel or nearby houses. We only saw two employees during our stay, which is why the place felt more like a guesthouse. The private wellness area can be locked, but it's too small for two couples. The jacuzzi worked, though some jets or the temperature didn't behave as we'd expected, and instructions or a check of how it works would help. Maybe we just didn't figure it out. The hammocks, though, were wonderful. Breakfast was lavish on the first day and a bit smaller on the following days, but there was still plenty to choose from and enough to fill up on. We were hesitant about the self-service bar at first, but tried it and found you could pour yourself Kofola or Pilsner. The room only mentioned Litovel, which didn't seem to be there, so that information could be updated.

The owner was amazing and so kind, and breakfast was first-rate. Everything was clean and cozy, and the hotel's location is a great starting point for exploring the mountains and nature. I can definitely recommend it, and this won't be my last visit.
