Hotel Jela Nek

The staff’s behavior was nervous and unprofessional, and one of them even laid a hand on someone in our group. That was completely unacceptable. We were six people, but they insisted that one person pay the whole bill by credit card. It seemed to us like an attempt to avoid proper taxes, though we can’t know for sure. The food was very poor, with nothing worth eating. Our stay at JELENIK Hotel in the Czech Republic was deeply disappointing, and we never want to repeat it. I strongly advise others to stay away.

The hotel is centrally located in the village, so it was easy to get around without a car. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the breakfast had a great selection. We felt well looked after by the friendly staff. One thing to know if privacy matters to you: the bathroom door was glass, slid open, and didn’t lock.

I called to ask about the EV charging station and why a 30-minute charge costs the same as charging all night. After I asked several times why I should pay for a full charge when I only wanted half an hour, the owner spoke to me disrespectfully and hung up. With an owner who treats paying customers that way, I’d skip this place and find somewhere more pleasant, with better social skills and respect. Its incredibly low rating doesn’t surprise me.

We stopped for something to eat and drink, but were treated in a very unfriendly, arrogant way. The restaurant was completely empty, yet as soon as we finished, they brought the bill and told us we had to leave if we weren’t ordering more. The prices were crazy too, four euros for coffee in a village in the Czech countryside. I’ll never return to the hotel or restaurant, or even this place. They need to learn what hospitality means. It’s a shame.
