Camp Alpa

It’s a quiet, uncrowded campsite about 15 minutes from the city. The receptionist was kind, and the bathrooms and toilets were clean. You can cook, or relax in the nearby bar. Card payment works at the bar, but camping fees are cash only. Wi-Fi is the downside, since it only reaches the area by the bar.

The highway is audible all the time, though it didn’t bother me much. Still, this is a fairly priced place to rest near Brno, with fields to walk through and a bus option for heading into town. Wi-Fi is included, as are pets. There’s a small outdoor kitchen with the basics and a self-service cafe. Black water disposal and fresh water are included; gray water can be emptied with a hose or bucket. Electricity costs extra.

The owner was nice, but I specifically asked about hot water in the showers and was told there was some. When we went to shower, there wasn’t any, so we had to go to Brno Aquapark just to wash. The kitchenette had no hot water either, and we did the dishes in cold water. The site is on the edge of Ostrovacice, so getting to a shop, restaurant, or bus stop means a walk, apart from the cafe on site.

The countryside setting is quiet and peaceful, and kids have room to play. We enjoyed sitting in the lovely shared area with a tasty Czech beer. The toilets are old, though. The nearby attraction is the Brno circuit, where lots of people come to train, and the circuit is also a golf course.
