Hotel Pecr Well

The restaurant is good and breakfast is excellent. Rooms are spacious and luxuriously equipped, and the owners have clearly put enough money into making this a top quality hotel. Still, I don’t feel comfortable giving it five stars. The rooms are advertised as “sound proof,” but they’re really sound prove. Traffic outside and kids running overhead both disturb you. The stone-like floors may be practical, but they carry noise across several floors. Reception doesn’t answer emails, so making arrangements before arrival is useless. And seeing naked people rushing along the corridors to the spa on the top floor doesn’t add value. It makes me wonder whether it’s worth paying so much to see fat naked people outside my room.

The main trails are nearby, which makes this a convenient base for hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts. Each room has its own parking space, and the reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was varied and delicious, and the wellness area had a great choice of saunas for relaxing after a long day. Our room was clean and spacious. The major problem was the bathroom layout: the toilet and bathroom aren’t in the same room. After using the toilet, you have to go to another room with a sink to wash your hands. That feels extremely unhygienic and takes away from an otherwise pleasant stay.

The hotel was super clean and accommodation prices were very good. The rooms were a bit noisy because of the nearby river. The windows are very good at keeping noise out, though you can still hear some. Breakfast isn’t large, but there are plenty of choices.

We first ate at the street-level restaurant, where our waiter was polite and professional. The meals were tasty and good value. Then we tried the hotel spa, which was a really great experience. Staff welcomed us warmly, and the place was clean and nicely decorated, with several kinds of sauna. There’s a pleasant relaxation area where we got fresh juice, plus an outdoor whirlpool to enjoy the fresh air. Highly recommend it. We’ll go again.
