Penzion Táňa

The accommodation is modest, with rooms upstairs and the bathrooms and toilets on the ground floor. It's more of a traditional mountain chalet than a guesthouse. On accommodation alone, I'd rate it lower, but the people at Tán are absolutely wonderful: the owner, manager, and chef, who cooks really well. If I return to Pec, this is where I'll stay.

We were staying near Tán, so I can't comment on the accommodation itself. We came here just for dinner, and it was absolutely fabulous, like culinary art at very nice prices. The food is on another level from what you get in the valley. We recommend it :)

I have a bit of an emotional attachment to this place because I came here for summer camp as a child. The camp leaders are also the guesthouse owners, and my stays were always smooth. I always enjoyed the food, and the staff were friendly and willing to make changes to accommodate me. The rooms are older, from twin rooms to large rooms for six. Showers and toilets are downstairs, separated for women and men. The surroundings are beautiful: Pec pod Sněžkou is within walking distance for dinner, and Sněžka is nearby too. From the guesthouse, you can hike to Sněžka via Růžohorky and then the stairs, through a giant mine, or by cable car.

The staff were helpful, and the chef knows how to handle dietary needs, including gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegetarian food. There's a beautiful view, a swimming pool, and a playground for children.
