Hostel River

The rooms were shabby and dirty, and there weren't any sheets on the beds, which was disgusting. We had an awful stay, even allowing for this being a hostel. They didn't answer the phone when we needed help, and nobody was there before 14:00. The windows wouldn't shut properly, so there was no way to control the temperature. The low price doesn't make up for it. Find somewhere cleaner and better.

I booked a dorm bed but was given a private room for a small extra fee. The room was nice and clean, and the woman there was so friendly and helpful. She gave me recommendations and let me pay when I left since I didn't have cash at first. The only small annoyance was the bathroom's automatic light and fan.

For 22 a day I had a single room with a private bathroom. It was clean, and the Wi-Fi worked everywhere. They're not there around the clock, so you need to coordinate if you arrive outside their hours, but that caused me no trouble. Once you meet them, you get keys for both the front door and your room. They were correct, though not especially friendly. I think that's just how Czech people are. It's a very good deal, about 600m or a 10-minute walk from the center, in a quite safe country. It was pretty impressive to see beautiful girls walking around at night on a weekday.

The place is central and the asking price is fair, but the manager is hardly ever around, which makes checking in and asking basic questions difficult. Appliances seem to break every other day. If you're feeling adventurous, you could do worse.
