A&O Prague Rhea

We left after just an hour because we couldn't bear the conditions, which was a huge disappointment. Our tiny room on the west-facing 12th floor had about six windows, but they only tilted open, so it became unbearably hot, like a sauna. The staff weren't helpful or accommodating either. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I've stayed at A&O in Praga several times, and I love it. It's so clean and well organized, and the prices are hard to beat. The location is a bit out of the way, but I think it's worth it. Honestly, it feels more like a hotel than a hostel.

The rooms were clean, the staff were nice, and I liked the view and the mattress. There are a few drawbacks: not many power outlets, no bathroom carpet or in-room fridge, and it's outside the center. Parking is available for €10 a night. Still, for the price, it's a very good deal.

The system let me down badly on the second-to-last day: my bed had been assigned to someone else while I was still staying there. I had to go to reception for a towel and fresh sheets, then remake everything for just one night. Completely unacceptable. The sink pipe also leaked. There were basic problems around the room as well. The beds didn't feel sturdy, there were no bathroom hooks for clothes, and the so-called lockers had such wide gaps that you could reach right through them. Charging was frustrating: only three outlets in the whole room, all awkwardly placed, and the bedside USB port drained my phone instead. A plug beside the bed is essential, especially for anyone with a laptop. The self-booking feature was convenient, but having to wait for someone to authorize each booking made it almost pointless. Reception always had a queue or a long wait. Breakfast had very few choices, especially for vegetarians, and the same options every day. The technology is good, but too many basic things were lacking.
