Apartment Amandment

It's a quiet area, and you can walk downtown through a park with lovely city views, then reach a bridge overlooking the city. The tram stop is just around the corner too. The bed was very good for sleeping, and staff tidied the room daily. Fresh towels were available on request. The basics are covered: a clean bathroom, a coffee to start the morning, and a kitchen with a kettle, fridge, and small stove. Everything was clean and very good for a low budget. I can warmly recommend it.

The location is excellent, with most things close by, but the staff's attitude was terrible and I wouldn't come back. When we arrived, we helped some Swedish guys get into the building because we speak Slovakian. I don't know whether there was a language barrier or whether nobody really wanted to help them. The so-called continental breakfast had bread that was literally green. We also couldn't pay by card, so we had to withdraw cash at the ATM, with very high fees. I asked on arrival for a noon late checkout, then heard four days later that they hadn't received my request. It seemed like my email had simply been ignored.

The rooms look as if they haven't been maintained in about 30 years. Things kept failing, including the shower and WiFi, and the place is falling apart. There was no service to speak of. The couple running it seemed to sit and smoke all day, and they don't speak English.

There were bed bugs at the hotel.
