There were three of us in a triple room for 3 nights. It was tolerable and reasonably run, fairly clean, and the beds were just comfortable enough. But it's a good 45 minute walk to the old town, which feels very far out, and the place has no character or atmosphere. The facilities are basic, with no air con or communal area. Staff weren't especially friendly, and the building felt dark and miserable. For the same price or less, there are much nicer hostels nearer the old town. I wouldn't recommend it to other travellers. Functional, soulless, a bit depressing.

The curtains were coming down, there were ants crossing our room, and I've included a picture of what we found behind the bed. Service was really, really bad. The guy at reception wouldn't look us in the eyes and seemed to have forgotten how to smile. We knew it was only a cheap place to sleep, but we were so glad we'd booked just one night. Sleeping in the park might have been better.

For 28 EURO per double room, you get the unusual chance to stay in a Charles University dormitory, but the conditions aren't great. Staff were unfriendly and the Wi-Fi was nowhere near normal. The location is fine, and there's a beautiful park nearby.

The shared bathroom is the downside. Otherwise, it was very clean, the staff were friendly, and it was better value than I'd expected. Cheap markets nearby had everything I needed. It's on the old town side of the river, about a 30 minute walk to old town, and there's a metro station just 2 minutes away.
