Bona Serva

We liked the hotel's calm, quiet setting near the city center, with bus and train stations close by. The staff were friendly, our clean room and bathroom were in normal condition, and the view was nice. The only thing we didn't like was the air conditioning. It's a very good hotel and worth the price.

The price and location were good, but I expected a better night's sleep. You don't need luxury for a city break, but the room was stuffy despite the barely insulated windows, and the bed felt as hard as a curb. The old windows let in all the noise from the main street below, while thin walls and doors added to it. It felt like sleeping right on the street. The bathroom was quite clean, as were the sheets and towels, though the rest of the room left a lot to be desired. Like others said, breakfast was very basic.

The rooms were clean and getting to the city center was easy, but I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. If you want a good night's sleep or a warm breakfast, look elsewhere. The old windows offer no insulation, so at night you hear everything from passing cars to what were probably intoxicated pedestrians. In my mom's room, two of the three bathroom spotlights didn't work. Staff "fixed" it by changing the angle of the one that did. Replacing the broken lights wasn't an option because, to quote them, "The janitor doesn't work on Sundays, they will be changed tomorrow." Ridiculous. I've stayed in three-star hotels before, and this one could barely claim two stars.

I had a weekend reservation but had to cancel because of flight issues. The staff were friendly and understood my situation, and they gave me a full refund. I'd recommend the hotel and will definitely book there again.
