Budget Apartment

Everything was great apart from one night when some guests were noisy at 4am. The hosts were easy to reach by WhatsApp or phone, and after I called shortly before we arrived, they were there to meet us. Check-in went really smoothly. The only awkward part was sharing a tiny kitchen with guests from the other three rooms; it felt cramped at times.

We were put in a room described as a “Deluxe” apartment, but it was in the basement and looked nothing like the photos. It was damp and smelled so bad that our belongings became musty after a few days. The place felt uncomfortable and, to us, like a health risk. We couldn't air it out because the window faced a noisy sidewalk, where cigarette smoke and garbage smells came in. People outside could easily see in, so there was no privacy. The kitchen was dirty, poorly equipped, and had a few bugs. It may look cheap, but the very low standard makes it seriously overpriced. The whole business seemed like a scam.

I paid for a stay but never got to stay there, and my messages were ignored. My flight problems and connection issues meant I arrived a bit late. I called the owner and messaged on WhatsApp, but got no answer or solution for checking in the next day. I had to ask a friend in Prague to call her for me. I got a key for my last day, but not the main door key or its code.

There are shops and restaurants close by, and public transport nearby makes it easy to get to the centre, though the location itself is a long way from it. The room is fine for a few nights in Prague and has the essentials, but some basics were missing. We had no glasses and had to drink from cups, and there was no salt, pepper, or washing-up liquid. There's plenty of empty cupboard space, though.
