Hotel Elysee

Breakfast was really good, with plenty to choose from and some items changing each day, so it didn’t feel like the same meal every morning. The whole stay was a highlight of my trip. Everyone in housekeeping, at breakfast, and at reception was kind and friendly, and they took care with guests and their requests. It was the best service I’ve found in Europe. Shoutout to Lukas, who was especially friendly and helpful.

The hotel’s location made it easy to walk to most historic sights and the city centre market. We stayed at Hotel Elysee for three nights and were very pleased. Our room was clean and spacious, housekeeping did an excellent job, and breakfast was good and filling. If we come back to Prague, this will be our address again.

Breakfast was good, though there’s only one toaster with four slots. The hotel is clean and right on Wenceslas Square, and the TV in the room has an English news channel. There’s no bar, so you can’t sit in the hotel lounge with a coffee, tea, or anything stronger. Getting in means walking about 80 metres through an arcade from the nearest drop-off point. There’s a theatre in the arcade, so if a show is just ending, you’ll be walking against the crowds.

Lukas at the front desk was the highlight, friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The hotel is good value for its location, room size, and cleanliness, and it’s quiet. Breakfast was great, with free espresso, cappuccino, and coffee. The tub was a tall garden-style one, though, and really difficult to climb in and out of if you’re short.
