Flying Dutchman

The bathroom was clean, and the boat is in a very quiet spot, with town about 15 minutes away. Still, I wouldn’t book it again. We had to ask at the restaurant next door for help checking in because nobody was there. When someone eventually showed up, they didn’t know we were arriving. The houseboat is very old and poorly maintained and cleaned. A strip of window trim had fallen onto the kitchen counter, the cooktop was partly melted, and the blinds were splattered and dirty. When we walked on the terrace, dead ants fell from the ceiling. The sheets had been washed but were still stained.

The sauna and hot tub were a little highlight for all of us. We were two adults and three kids, and there was just enough room. It was a different sort of holiday from staying in a standard hotel room. The furnishings covered what we needed, though a toaster would have been nice. Anthony was friendly, really good, and always available.

The city center takes about 15 minutes by train, and the station is only a two-minute walk away. I’d stay again. It’s a fantastic, cozy houseboat with a sauna upstairs, a fire pit, and a heated wooden barrel.

Such a great spot, with an amazing feel to it.
