The location worked well for us, and we walked everywhere in town. If you don’t like walking, you may prefer somewhere closer to the old town. There are a few nice restaurants nearby, so food isn’t a problem, though you may need to buy extra supplies if you plan on cooking much. The kitchen had equipment, but it was missing basics like a clean cutting board and small knife, so cooking felt more like making do than enjoying it. Some of the kitchen items were dirty too. There was a washing machine, but in summer it took all night for clothes to dry. Bars nearby and poor window soundproofing sometimes made it noisy. We were pleasantly surprised to find a baby chair and bed. There was plenty of space and high ceilings, but cleanliness was a major problem for us because of our baby. The floors were very dirty when we arrived, and long hairs from previous renters were everywhere. There were no cleaning tools apart from a brush. The place is a good deal, though I think management could make it much better with more effort and planning.

A peaceful location with a very clean, nicely furnished apartment. Bars and restaurants are an easy walk away, but far enough not to make noise. Transport links were great, and late-night check-in was completely painless. I’d stay again.

Residence Elema turned out to be one of the best parts of our trip. We walked to the center in about 20 minutes, and the metro and tram were close by too. When we arrived, a really nice guy greeted us and recommended a nearby bakery for cheap, tasty breakfast. We'd worried the low price might mean a windowless room, but instead we got a huge, clean, well-arranged apartment. It had everything we needed, including a very comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, and an equipped kitchen. Great for couples or families. We were really happy with our stay.

The apartment was really dirty. It smelled as if someone had smoked there for 20 years without opening a window. There was a big hole in the shower curtain, dust and crumbs on the tables, stains on the floor, and I'd wash the dishes before using them. In one room, the beds were made from three separate pillows, which hardly counts as a bed. Parking isn't free during the day. It's free from 20:00 to 8:00, then about 1 euro an hour Monday to Friday, or 1 euro for the whole day on weekends. There's a slightly cheaper lot 300-400 metres away.
