The customer service needs serious work. One waitress, described as short and chubby, was rude and arrogant enough to make us feel unwelcome. The other staff were average. When we brought our concerns to management, they got defensive and argued instead of listening or apologising. I’m definitely not coming back. For a seven-night stay, this place felt more like short-stay accommodation for a night or two than a hotel. The rooms look modern after renovation, but the carpets were extremely dirty and seemed not to have been properly cleaned in a long time. There was no kettle, no wardrobe or closet, just a few hangers on an open rail. Housekeeping came only twice all week. There isn’t a proper reception desk. Check-in happens at the bar, which also serves as reception, so you might arrive while a party is going on. Breakfast was very poor, with items that seemed to be leftovers from the previous evening or day, reheated and served again. The wellness and spa pricing was confusing too: the rate posted in the room differed from the one quoted at reception.

Our room was incredibly comfortable, and the cozy atmosphere made it feel like a home away from home. The attentive staff, who are part of a lovely family business, made us feel welcome. Breakfast was delicious, and free parking was a real convenience. We also enjoyed the beautiful garden as a peaceful place to unwind.

The bathroom cleanliness was poor, with yellow stains all around under the toilet seat. Our room was noisy too, and we could hear disturbances from the neighboring room. Breakfast was served cold despite the service staff’s efforts. There was no English information for international guests, and communication was difficult because staff struggled with English. The service staff member who kept calling us was extremely impolite. She did try to solve the problem, but wouldn’t accept that we might leave a bad review. I asked to speak to the boss, but she refused and couldn’t speak English. An employee offered an extra bottle of alcohol as compensation, though that wasn’t what we wanted. The payment arrangements were unclear. We weren’t told that payment could only be made when the manager was available at 11am. There was no receptionist, so in the morning we spoke with the waitress before leaving after breakfast, which runs from 8am to 10am. She said we could settle up at checkout the next day, but apparently didn’t tell the manager. The manager then repeatedly called us to come pay, because she wanted to leave early at 7 o’clock, even though the service information says reception is open until 11 o’clock. We also weren’t clearly told on the website or at the hotel that the spa required an extra reservation and payment. That policy should be easier to find. Until these problems and communication improve, I can’t recommend a stay here. Don’t advertise as “Spa&Hotel” when the spa doesn’t come with the stay.

The bathroom was dirty and had an inadequate shower curtain, so water ended up everywhere. The room was noisy, breakfast was cold, and staff calls were impolite. They also claimed room service and language abilities that weren’t there. For international guests, English information and access to English-speaking staff were poor. It was hard to find anyone who could help, and the manager or boss was irresponsible about showing up. Payment was confusing, and staff didn’t communicate clearly. The spa needed extra payment and a reservation, which wasn’t mentioned on the website. We couldn’t speak to the boss. They offered to send an alcoholic drink to the room after we complained, but we said we don’t drink, so they did nothing. I’d been told we were allowed to use the property, so the extra charge was misleading. Calling this “Hotel & Spa” feels deceptive when you must pay extra just to use it. The service was mannerless, loud, and unprofessional. They need to improve, or I wouldn’t recommend staying.

The building’s statue has a welcoming message, but it never switches off. When you arrive late, it can wake everyone else up. Staff were friendly, though the hotel could use an update. The bathroom has what you need, but its design is dated and the shower leaves the whole room wet.
