Ground Floor Apart-hotel

A great place to stay in Prague, with good connections to all the tourist attractions.

Alex made things much easier for us, replying straight away to our questions, which was helpful on our first visit to another country. Our late flight was no problem for check-in: Alex was waiting at reception and showed us to the apartment. It was in a nice area, not too far from the city, with trams a few minutes' walk away. Read Alex's leaflet for ticket advice, and remember to validate the ticket when you board. The tickets work on trams, buses and the metro, and are cheap and efficient. You can buy them at the tobacco shop. Leaving the building, turn left, across from Olsanka Hotel on the main road; the Albert supermarket is a few minutes farther along. Lavicka Restaurant is five minutes' walk from Olsanka Hotel, on the same side toward the city. The apartment was lovely, clean and very quiet. There were just two of us, with enough room, a comfortable bed and sofa, and a great shower. We'd stay here again if we return to Prague. Thanks, Alex!

The owner replied immediately when I sent photos of the problems on my last day, then shared a picture of the replacement items after I left. I hope future guests get better service. The apartment is conveniently close to the center, with a fully equipped kitchen. There was salt, tea and coffee, but vinegar instead of oil. It's renovated and freshened up, though not new. Parking nearby at Olšanka Hotel costs €16 a day, a reasonable price for Prague. The apartment is on the -1 floor. There was no heating, but September weather was mild and there were heaters. I think it could be uncomfortable in winter. The cleaning was poor, and the cleaner clearly wasn't putting in extra effort. The furniture, iron and hairdryer were broken. There was one towel per person, and I needed more small ones.

The apartment is in a nice new building, and the manager was friendly and attentive. It had everything for a comfortable stay: dishes, microwave, kettle, electric stove, Wi-Fi, washing machine, coffee maker, hairdryer, linens and towels. The coffee maker needs special capsules. Parking is included, which is very useful in Prague. For sightseeing, the location is ideal, with only a few stops to the center and right beside Olšany Cemetery. I personally love walking there; it's a huge park with beautiful sculptures. We were with children and could also walk around the courtyard. Across the road is Parukářka park, with several playgrounds, barbecue and grilling spots, and a great view of Žižkov. A large Czech Post office is also across the street. For bigger shops, Albert is one stop away, though its quality isn't the best. Lidl is 10 minutes by tram and Kaufland 15. At the end of March, with no heating and after airing the room out, the temperature never fell below 24-25 degrees, so it was very warm. For summer, air conditioning is needed.
