Hostel Ananas

I’d book again, just in a different bed. I nearly fell out of the one I had in the mixed 10-bed dorm: it had no barrier on one side and wasn’t flush against a wall. Ten people in that room felt like a lot. The men’s shower area could use some attention, though the place was as clean as you’d expect. On the plus side, the staff were friendly, informative, and spoke English. The location in central Prague is great, and the price was very fair. I was fairly pleased with the stay.

For what it costs, I’d recommend this hostel. The location is superb, and both the rooms and bathrooms were clean. The beds were more comfortable than I expected. Service at the information desk was okay, while the central hangout area on F2 felt more like a corridor.

We checked in with friends and initially had a good impression. The receptionist was very nice and gave us useful advice. The next morning, though, we were told to leave, supposedly because there was no hot water. We found another hostel fairly easily and checked out expecting our money back, but nobody would refund us. We came back later for our luggage and tried again, with no luck. We had to email to ask for the refund, and more than a week later there was still no reply and no money. I’m very unhappy with how this was handled and can’t recommend the place. The facilities also seemed poor compared with other hostels. Don’t go here.

The location made getting around easy: most places were walkable and the subway was right next door. Our shared sleeping room and the toilets were clean, and the reception staff were friendly. It was also handy to leave our luggage at reception and head out for the day.
