Hotel Klarinn

For €104 a night, I expected the room to be cleaner. There were hairs on the sheets, dust seemed to be everywhere, and the air conditioning didn’t work. The bed was rock hard and really uncomfortable. The decor looks nice at first, but I was glad this was only a one-night stay. For longer, I’d definitely have booked somewhere else.

The location was good value for the low price, but the place needs to be cleaner. Dust was noticeable in the air, with cobwebs in every corner. Renovation work was happening during our stay, and I hope things improve. We skipped breakfast and paid about €30 per day to park near the hotel.

Yellow water started dripping through the bathroom ceiling, apparently from a leak in the shower above. It came through the bathroom lightbulb, which felt dangerous. When I told the breakfast attendant and later reception, they said in broken English that nothing could be done until the next day. That evening, the leak caused the electricity in my room to go out. I spent the whole evening using my phone as a torch in the dark, and couldn’t charge my phone or computer. Reception couldn’t help. The next morning the power came back for a while, then went out again. The internet was also down until 4 pm. Electricity, a shower, and internet are basic things a hotel should provide. This was a deeply disappointing, unacceptable stay, and I wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone. I’d never written a hotel review before, but this was so bad I felt other people should know.

The location was absolutely the best, and the front desk lady was wonderful when we arrived. The rooms were serviceable, though a bit dirty, and breakfast was very bad for the price.
