Hotel Roma Prague

The staff were great throughout, full of local suggestions, and even arranged a room change once the noise became a problem. The location is excellent on the palace side of the city, which we later learned is considered the more upscale and quieter area. We felt safe, and could easily walk to attractions, restaurants, bars, and public transport. The hotel itself is basic, which seems fair for the price, but the noise was rough. I got less than four hours of sleep combined over the first two nights because there’s no sound insulation, and you can hear late-night partygoers throughout the building. Once I finally fell asleep, cleaning staff woke me early by talking loudly on their phones and to one another. That continued even after we moved to a quieter part of the hotel. The rooms were also very hot, so I had to keep the air-conditioning on and the window open. The team and location were brilliant, so the stay wasn’t bad, but the price and area seem to draw a party crowd. If you’re a light sleeper or want a peaceful hotel, you may want to look elsewhere.

The room was extremely clean, breakfast was good, and the housekeeping and dining staff were very attentive. The reception experience, though, was enough to put me off coming back or recommending the place. The long-haired receptionist was extremely rude. I’d forgotten my room card, and even though he saw us waiting at the entrance, he took quite a while to open the door. Then he harshly told us we should enter with the card. He could’ve explained it politely and with some understanding. Zero points for friendliness.

The spacious rooms had everything needed for a comfortable stay, and the location was great. Reception staff were super friendly. The hotel is a little worn, the Wi-Fi is weak, and noise can be an issue, but if those aren’t dealbreakers, it’s well worth the price.

The staff were excellent and very helpful, and we really liked the location. It’s right by the tram lines, though we didn’t use them much. We could walk from the hotel to the famous bridge and into the old town. We only took the trams up to Prague Castle, since that walk is more of a workout. The building is an older hotel in a renovated historic property, with large, very clean, quiet rooms. We liked it more than several newer hotels we stayed in Germany and Austria.
