Hotel Klára

Being close to public transport was a big plus, and we were pleased with the hotel’s location and comfort. The room was a suitable size and very clean, with a comfortable bed that gave us a restful stay. Breakfast was filling and sufficient.

The location was good and otherwise the hotel was fine, but we had no hot water or heating for two days in freezing winter weather. I asked repeatedly and nothing was fixed. They should tell guests when the hot water and heat aren’t working instead of acting as if everything is fine. There was no discount or other benefit for being unable to shower. They offered a small discount only if I paid in euro cash; otherwise, nothing.

We ended up calling the police to get some of our money back after deciding not to stay. They made us pay in cash before we had even seen the room. The hotel description said there was parking, but there was none around the Hotel, and we spent an hour driving around trying to find a spot. The room and hotel were old, dirty, and smelly, nothing like the pictures. It felt like a scam.

Lovely people and a lovely hotel, with great value. The tram line is practically right outside the door. I’ve stayed here four times already and plan to come back many more.
