La Fenice

I’d rate this hotel 8.5 out of 10. The room was clean, a little old-fashioned but maintained well. The front office staff were professional and the service was good. I’d never been to Prague before, and found the location convenient, with a pizza place next door and the metro or tram about a 7-minute walk away. There’s a small balcony, a hairdryer and mini fridge, and the water pressure was normal to good. The toilet was disinfected, the pillow was clean and white, and I checked inside the case for stains but didn’t find any. There’s also a wall heater in the bathroom for drying towels. A few things could be better: the floor tiles look old, though I didn’t mind, and the right mattress was uneven compared with the left, with some sagging areas. The door didn’t seem very sturdy, and from outside you could see light coming through the frame. It’s still a good, well-maintained hotel. You can leave your luggage with the front office at your own risk, since they aren’t responsible for it.

We had a very pleasant stay and liked the hotel a lot. The staff were helpful, the rooms were nice, and the breakfast was very good with a changing menu. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and it’s easy to reach by public transport or on foot from the main station. I did have some Wi-Fi trouble in the room, though I was staying in the room at the very top and farthest corner.

Hotel La Fenice was a comfortable, pleasant place to spend three nights over New Year’s Eve. Its central location made it easy to get around, even with the holiday crowds. The hotel has a charming, classic feel, and our room stayed clean, warm and comfortable through the winter. Housekeeping kept it tidy throughout. Getting there from the airport was straightforward, though there’s no direct connection to the hotel. We took Bus 59 and transferred to Metro Line A, getting off at Jiřího z Poděbrad, a short walk away. The station is also handy for reaching major attractions. The staff stayed professional and attentive despite the New Year rush, and were friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations. We enjoyed the lively surroundings on New Year’s Eve and thought breakfast had a nice variety. I’d definitely recommend it for a comfortable, well-located stay with easy public transport, especially for airport arrivals or a festive visit.

We were happy with our stay and would probably book here again next time we’re in Prague. The location is a little outside the centre, so it’s quieter and there aren’t crowds of tourists. Metro station A is just a three-minute walk away, there’s a tram nearby, and Václavské nám. is about a 20-minute walk. We stayed for three days at the end of December. The room was clean, nice and warm, with a large, spacious shower. Breakfast was delicious and hearty, with choices for different tastes. Reception staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. The shower plumbing seemed a bit outdated, though, and hotel management should keep an eye on it.
