Mama Shelter Prague

I picked this hotel after noticing its name, then checking the reviews, photos, and price. I wanted somewhere for one night that was easy to reach by car, had decent parking, and was within walking distance of the city centre. It's an offbeat, funky spot, with exceptionally friendly and efficient staff and a great breakfast. And it's comforting to hear that Mama loves you ❤️

The hospitality really stood out. Everyone we met, from reception to the upbeat bar and breakfast teams, was warm and genuine. Housekeeping deserves a special mention for keeping our room spotless throughout the stay. Coming back to it each evening was a pleasure. After a great stay at Mama Shelter Rome, I expected a lot from the Prague location, and it delivered. I knew they shared the same DNA as The Hoxton, so I expected style and quality. The modern facilities have that signature quirky charm, and my mom loved the fun but comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely return, and I'd recommend it whether you're a regular Mama guest or visiting for the first time.

I stay here often for work. The hotel is modern and attractive, and the staff are friendly and take good care of guests. Michael at reception is always up for a chat and happy to advise me on getting around the city, including suggesting nice places to visit. Breakfast is really good and has a wide variety.

Breakfast was very good quality, but it got so busy that seating was limited, and on the second day there weren't any forks left. The rooms were fine, though they lacked tea and coffee facilities, and the kids' amenities, including the pool table and games machines, were great. The food and drink were good, the area around the hotel was pleasant, and transport links were nearby despite it being outside the centre. The hotel was acceptable overall, but several small things could be improved. Staff were polite but not especially warm or engaging. After this visit I stayed at the central Novotel, where the friendly greetings and questions about my stay made the difference clear. At Mama Shelter, check-out was just, “You have nothing to pay. Bye.” No one asked how the stay was or tried to connect. The welcome drink for Gold members and above was another disappointment. When I asked, staff said the water and apple juice in the room counted, even though I don't like either and that didn't cover all the guests in my room. They insisted it was Mama Shelter policy. ALL Accor Customer Care told me a Gold member should get a welcome drink for all guests on the reservation and said they would follow up with management. The whole thing felt like cost-cutting instead of a real loyalty benefit.
