METRO Apartment Prague by Main Train and Bus Station

The shower room needs attention because it leaked water onto the floor. The basement room had very little daylight from its one small window, and the humidifier had to run all the time to keep our things from getting damp. It made some noise, though it didn’t bother me personally and could disturb a light sleeper. The owners are upfront about the basement location, which gives it a Prague subway feel. The kitchen was very well equipped, even with a toaster. We were close to the train, bus, and tram stations, with a tram ride into the center. Our double room was a really nice place to stay, with tea, coffee, and little welcome sweets. We’ll consider coming back.

The property was dirty, and chemicals were stored outside the room. There was no hot water. They said they would compensate us but wouldn’t issue a refund. I don’t understand how the place got such high ratings. It ruined our Prague experience.

I wouldn’t book this place again. When I arrived, there was a terrible smell, liquid of some kind all over the bathroom floor, and a dirty shower. The mattress was thin and uncomfortable, and personal belongings were left out in the open.

We ended up finding another room after the power kept failing and the main hall smelled like something had burned. On the first and last nights, the doors opened automatically when the electricity went out. The idea of Metro Apartment is good, and it does look like a metro, but safety didn’t seem to be a priority. A service man asked me, as a guest, to stand on a chair and check the fuses for both apartments at the top of the hall. That felt unprofessional. He switched off the washing machine fuse, though he wasn’t sure it was the cause, and nobody had even used the washing machine. If zero stars had been an option, I’d have chosen it.
