EMPIRENT Aquarius Apartments

The apartment is too expensive at 200 euros a night, especially with one toilet for a large two-bedroom place. On the first night, police came and demanded 3000 for noise when there wasn’t any. They intimidated us until we paid. We were given a second noise warning while we were asleep, though the noise was actually coming from the apartment opposite. When I explained this the next day, they didn’t apologize or even respond. They also didn’t change the towels after day three, despite saying in the listing and printed apartment information that they would. The master bedroom air conditioning went off by itself at 3am for two nights in a row. Maintenance blamed me for switching it to heat, but I’d set it to cool and never touched the remote again. The furniture is over the top and pretentious: therapy chairs, candlestick holders without candles, and wall radiators turned the wrong way so you can’t hang anything on them. Nobody was there to check us in. Ivana the manager was rude and usually didn’t reply when I told her how we felt.

The apartment itself is beautiful, with lots of space, a jacuzzi and an amazing view. But sleeping in either of the two rooms was impossible without blinds, and noise from Dlouhá street was unbearable even at 4am. The flat could definitely be cleaner.

The apartment was comfortable and stylish, with two bedrooms and a good location. The furnishings were fine, and the free Wi-Fi worked, though the signal was weak in some parts. There were no English TV channels, so Amazon Prime helped keep the kids busy in the evenings. A few practical things were missing from the kitchen: oven gloves, small chopping knives, a toaster and a hand towel. The microwave was mounted a bit high, which made lifting out hot dishes tricky. We couldn't find instructions for the hob, though we eventually figured it out. The kitchen floor was a little dirty on arrival. Both bathrooms had very slippery black-and-white marble floors and nowhere to put toiletries, and neither had a bin. There was only one toilet.

The apartments are beautifully designed and feel luxurious. They’re right in the city centre, less than a five-minute walk away. If you’re heading to Prague, this is where you should stay.
