My Hotel Apollon Prague

I stayed at Hotel Appolon Prague from 4 Feb to 20 Feb, but the stress became too much and I had to leave. I was working from my room, and repeated interruptions disrupted my work and peace, during the day and evening, even at normal quiet times. Combined with the room issues and noise at night, the stay became unbearable. I didn’t feel respected as a guest and wouldn’t choose this hotel again. The second room had mold in the bathroom, worn bed linen and bathroom items, and noise from neighbors after midnight. I complained about the noise several times. The first room had a very strong unpleasant smell. Reception initially refused to move me, but after I insisted, manager Iryna got involved, apologized and transferred me to another room. Smoking complaints were another major problem. Staff repeatedly questioned me about smoking in the room, though I had a balcony and no reason to smoke indoors. I denied it each time, but they said the smell was “in all rooms.” If it affected multiple rooms, it didn’t make sense to keep blaming one guest, especially someone staying longer than others. One evening around 7 PM, a receptionist asked to come in and smell-check my room and bathroom. I let them, but nothing was confirmed. Manager Iryna apologized, said it was a general check, and promised I wouldn’t be disturbed again. Despite that, I was interrupted again later, with confrontations and accusations after housekeeping had entered while I’d briefly gone downstairs. The communication was unprofessional and aggressive. I also often saw Iryna shouting at staff, which made the atmosphere tense.

The room was nice, neat and tidy, and the hotel is in a good spot. The staff were kind too. My only concern was the bathroom’s black facade, which left me wondering whether the walls were properly cleaned. All in all, it’s a great place.

We had two rooms, and the beds weren’t the same: one was fine, the other too soft. One room was clean, while the furniture in the other was dirty. The shades in one room couldn’t be closed. Breakfast was very basic, but okay.

We couldn’t sleep because other guests in the first corridor were making too much noise and playing there. We told reception, but he said noise after 6 a.m. was normal. They didn’t do anything to fix the problem.
