Old Town Spirit

The location was fairly convenient and the price was low, but the apartment was very dirty apart from the bathroom. There were chips on the bed, disco bracelets on the floor, bits of wall and insects around. The room also had no wardrobes, just one chest of drawers, and you could hear outside noise with no soundproofing. Getting in was a mess. The owner sent us a link to enter, but two other people showed up with pre-bookings for our same room. During the stay we saw several more people outside struggling to get inside. Staff were mostly absent and not very courteous when we did reach them. We asked for more cleaning because the room was in such bad shape and had to send photos as proof. A woman arrived two minutes later, mopped for about 30 seconds, then left. The chips were still on the bed, with bits of wall and bugs around. For the same money, you can find somewhere much better.

I honestly wouldn’t give it a star. Check the sheets, because ours hadn’t been changed and had hair and blood on them. There was rubbish in the coffee maker, dirty dishes left in the washing machine by the previous guests, and a filthy oven. The heat didn’t work, the elevator was out, and our room was on the fifth floor, so we had to haul our luggage up with no help. The shower water turned cold, and the staff were awful.

Don’t stay at Old Town Spirit. Our first visit last year was good, and the security used regular electronic cards. On our second stay, less than a week ago, they’d switched to a phone link sent during online check-in. You open it and tap a button for the main entrance or your room. That’s their “key” and security system. On the night of 15 of June, we came back to find someone had entered our room without forcing the door and stolen everything. Our documents, suitcases, clothes, and my laptop, which I needed for work, were gone. Disgusting. We filed a police report and spent over five hours with them at dawn. Then we tried to reach Old Town Spirit because they bear a lot of responsibility for what happened, but got no reply, not even about checking out. It’s suspicious and disrespectful. Avoid this place if you don’t want your belongings stolen while you’re out.

We really loved it here. Such a beautiful place to visit.
