Avoid this place, it was a complete disaster. I booked an apartment at Janáčkovo nábřeží - Riverside Residence, but accidentally selected May when I meant to book March. I politely asked the property to cancel, since the stay was clearly for a much later date than I needed and they still had two months to rent it out. I also offered alternative dates, but they refused and kept repeating that the rate was non-refundable and the mistake was my problem. I lost my money. The person at reception I dealt with was very unfriendly, rude, and arrogant, with no understanding. It felt like guests were just walking wallets. In ten years of booking hundreds of properties online, I’ve never had anyone treat me so badly.

Sorry, this was a bad choice. It was old and unclean, the bed was broken, and the dishes were dirty. You couldn’t even open the windows for fresh air.

On our July 2023 stay, the location and views were the only real positives. Cleanliness was acceptable, but the other problems outweighed that for me. We were in a top-floor attic apartment with a terrace. There was no air conditioning, just one floor fan, and it still reached 30 degrees Celsius inside with the windows open. Summer was uncomfortable. The bigger issue was customer service and what felt like dishonest business practice. They charged our 200 EUR deposit for damage we hadn’t caused. I tried calmly to resolve it with reception, but they stopped replying to my calls, messages, and email. I had to contact European consumer protection authorities, and the case is still open. I found at least one other Booking.com reviewer who said they’d also been charged for damage they didn’t cause. I wouldn’t recommend staying at any Selinor apartments if you want a pleasant holiday.

The bedroom was cozy, but I found the beds uncomfortable. Each night we ended up rolling toward the middle, where the gap between the two mattresses seemed wide enough for a whole person. The apartment felt dated and uninviting, so we didn’t want to spend time there. The bathroom was so cramped I kept bumping into things, and the so-called living room had one harsh ceiling bulb that made me question booking the place. The location was great, though. It was affordable, easy to get to, and within walking distance of the old town, with lots of parks nearby. It seemed like a less touristy area, since we were the only visitors at the cafes and restaurants we went to. The food options were much better than in the city’s main tourist areas.
