Romantic nest under Prague Castle

We were glad we upgraded from a Deluxe Suite to the De Castello Suite shortly before our April 24-29 vacation. It was a beautiful, spacious, well laid out and comfortable room, and we enjoyed the balcony and its views. Breakfast was delicious, especially the oatmeal and scrambled eggs. Yuri our Butler was attentive, friendly, and helpful, as was everyone we met. Booking and communicating by email and website was easy, and our questions got quick answers. Special thanks to Jana for her timely replies. The location is excellent, with restaurants and shops nearby. Prague is very walk-able if you don’t mind cobblestones. Make time for an evening concert in one of the many Cathedrals. Magical.

We slept really well because it was so quiet, and the walk to old town square took about 10-15 minutes. The emerald room and bathroom were both a good size, and the patio was beautiful and roomy too. Breakfast was included and very good, and the price felt reasonable. Adam and Yuri did a fantastic job looking after us in the dining area, and everyone at the front desk was just as good. This is a 5 star hotel, with courteous, friendly, attentive staff. Thank you for making our stay wonderful!

We were still made to feel welcome while waiting around for a late airport transfer on checkout day. The staff kept our luggage, brought refreshments, and found us a comfortable place to sit. They were fantastic throughout and always ready with advice or directions. Our 3 nights here made a perfect base for exploring Prague. The area is peaceful, yet shops, restaurants, and cafes are just 2-3 minutes away. The hotel is beautifully decorated. There’s no restaurant, but they serve an ample breakfast each day in the small dining room or directly to your room. I’d highly recommend it.

Every morning from 7:30 AM, noise from the restaurant above our room woke us up, including tables scraping and footsteps overhead. We’d booked a room directly below it, and the poor noise isolation made the stay uncomfortable, especially at around €400 per night for a 5-star hotel. The online photos looked beautiful, but the room didn’t match that impression. When I asked receptionist Olesya on arrival if we could change rooms, she said the hotel was fully booked and the only option was to cancel without any refund, then smiled. I found the response dismissive and unhelpful, one of my worst customer service experiences despite traveling frequently. I strongly regret booking here. It wasn’t worth the price and seriously affected our stay. Prague has many excellent hotels, so I’d recommend choosing another place rather than risk poor room conditions and customer service.
