A great place to pause while out walking. I just had a refreshing beer on the terrace and took in the striking view of the monastery. The sign says to order inside, and getting that sorted with my phone translator was no trouble. Well worth the small effort, and an easy five stars from me.

There’s plenty to do nearby, from the swimming pool and Novy rybnik (New Pond) with its wooden attractions to the skatepark, railway stop, kids hobit houses, two big trampolines, playground, toilets, refreshments and meals. The location worked really well for us. The rooms are great value, each with a tiny balcony, and the breakfast was good. Maybe a little fridge in the room would make things even better. The restaurant next door is known for its Pilsner tank beer, and the meals are good too.

This place absolutely has an USSR feel, curtains and all. When I flicked the switch, that sound took me straight back to better times. Loved it.

The food was really bad, with potatoes almost every day. Pick another hotel.
