The shared kitchenette was another nasty surprise: the microwave looked as if it had months of food splatter inside, the dishes were dirty, and the cooling box I was told was a fridge was not something I wanted to comment on. We only stayed because it was already late. The next day, when we returned the keys, the manager gave us a discount but said nothing else and didn't ask why we were leaving. Given the rooms' condition, we didn't want to try the restaurant either. The room itself was a huge disappointment. There was a thick layer of dust on the shelves and windows, the toilet was dirty, the sink had mold, and there was sand and mold in the shower. Insects were everywhere, and the bed linen smelled of smoke. Within five minutes of climbing around, our little one had filthy hands, knees, and socks. I called the manager to check whether she'd accidentally put us in the wrong room. She apologized and came to clean, but her idea of cleaning seemed different from mine: she washed the toilet, dusted, and vacuumed, while missing the sink, shower, and dirty, empty soap dish.
