The surroundings were the real highlight for me, so calm and beautiful, with a little magic to the place. We visited in spring and wished we’d discovered it sooner so we could have stayed longer. It’s a cozy mountain house right by hiking trails, set on a slope. Getting there takes a bit of care because the paved approach includes a steep driveway, but perhaps that means it stays quieter. Our room was clean and pleasant, the beds were comfortable, and our dog was welcome and seemed happy too. The woman we met spoke excellent English, and everyone was kind and helpful. Breakfast was superb, with scrambled eggs and a continental selection.

After skiing, this is a lovely place to stop for a meal or a rest. The food was delicious, and the prices felt fair for a mountain restaurant, even if they were about average for a restaurant generally. The terrace has a striking view, and inside it’s attractively done up like an old log cabin. It’s not huge, but apparently it can seat 35 people without becoming uncomfortable. The staff were really friendly. From what I heard, they speak at least Czech, English, and German. I’ll definitely come back. 5/5 ☆

The restaurant is a highlight even if you’re only stopping in: the food was the best I’ve had in this area, and the draft Pilsner is tasty. The dining room has a cozy log cabin feel, complete with a fireplace. Staff were incredibly nice too, thanks for everything. I’ll be back. For a winter stay, the ski-in/ski-out access is great. In warmer weather, it’s close to lots of beautiful marked trails heading into Jizerské hory and Krkonoše. Rooms are simple, but the beds are comfortable, and some look out over the Rokytnice valley. There’s also a small sauna you can book even if you’re not staying there. I’d recommend it on a ski trip. I’d rate Skacelka 11/10 for either a summer or winter stay.

Comfortable beds and a lovely valley view in the rooms. The menu is small, but the food is great, and the Pilsner tastes good too.
