The service is great.

The rooms are simple, but clean and tidy, with enough heating and closet space. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the price is good for what you get. Breakfast is varied, and half-board is available for a modest extra cost. There’s also an à la carte menu with a limited choice, mostly meat and fish, but the food is good quality. The small bar has very reasonable prices. It’s a handy base for winter sports in Rokytnice or Harrachov, both about a 10-minute drive away. Paseky is closer, though it has only a few lifts and is lower down, so snow is less certain. There’s a lift 200 meters away, but it’s a single drag lift, not connected to a ski area. We highly recommend the place. We’re a family with two children, aged 11 and 15.

The outdoor Svijany signs are lit up, and there’s a huge “Restaurant” sign on the building, but they seem mainly aimed at their own guests. Once inside, they politely let you know that if you really want food, the wait may be an hour or two. I don’t understand the point of advertising outside when they face this kind of situation every day.
