CAMP Dolce

The shared kitchen had wasps in it, and not many of the other campers spoke English, though I guess that can vary. We still had eight great days here. Our one-room cottage had a kitchenette and got very cold at night, but that was to be expected. Cutlery rental was very cheap. Our toddler had great playgrounds on site, and there were huge ones within a 30-minute drive.

Our two kids had the time of their lives, swimming in the lake and cycling around it. They also had bouncy castles and trampolines, plus kayaks and family boats available at very affordable prices. The Kiosk made fresh food to order on its char-grill, too. The place was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly, and there were plenty of activities to choose from. Some nights got livelier with live music and groups of happy people, so it may not suit you if you don't like a cool summer vibe. All of us gave it top marks. We just wish we could've stayed longer.

We visited in August 2014. The campground is in a lovely spot by the lake, with plenty of room for tents and outdoor activities, and it seems like a good place for a vacation. The lake bed is all stones, so swimming really requires water shoes. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, though they struggled to tell me the weather forecast. Everything was clean, but the garbage container smelled. You can charge phones at reception or in the kitchen. There’s also a cooking area and a fridge, but you need to get its key from reception. The price was good, under 300 kr for two people, a tent, and a car. A shower wasn’t included, and if I remember right, a 7-minute token cost 10 kr.

We stayed for five nights at the end of July. You can pick your own camping spot, which could get chaotic when it’s busy. There were lots of activities and a good restaurant, and otherwise everything was good. The problem was the noise: some guests yelled after midnight, and somebody started mowing the bushes at 7:30 in the morning.
