What a disaster. The guesthouse had a really unpleasant smell, and there was dust everywhere and dirty dishes, even though the owner seemed helpful when we arrived. On the first day, he came into our apartment without telling us and left the keys in the dirty room. We’d rented the whole apartment. On Friday my friend’s boyfriend arrived, and the owner, who seemed to be under the influence of alcohol, became aggressive and unpleasant and threw him out at ten in the evening. We couldn’t reach an agreement, and he threatened to call the police. My friend, her child and her boyfriend left for home that night. We waited until morning because our children were asleep. In the morning, the owner wouldn’t even open the door so we could hand over the keys. We didn’t receive a tax document, and he didn’t ask for an ID either.

We booked both apartments because the guesthouse website described it as “Very suitable for larger groups,” and we expected them to connect by an indoor staircase. Instead, getting between them meant using an outdoor staircase with no lighting. We also weren’t told that the owner lived in the building. He kept checking whether we had locked up and even left notes on the door. That’s not what you want on vacation. The building was non-smoking, but had a strong unpleasant smell throughout, and the beds weren’t very comfortable. The guesthouse is in a beautiful spot with good access to the slopes, but we were disappointed. If you want a private vacation, this may not be the place for you. We couldn’t find anything saying we wouldn’t have the building to ourselves.

I stayed here in March 2018. The guesthouse was clean and cozy, and the owner was very pleasant. Černá Hora resort is nearby and I can recommend it too.

There’s plenty of space at the accommodation, plus parking, a private entrance and other nice surprises. Beautiful hiking trails are right around the ski resorts, and you’ve got everything else you could want for a holiday.

If skiing is the priority and you don’t need extra comfort, this place is ideal. The accommodation is fine, the price is very reasonable, and the landlord is a pleasant gentleman.
