Penzion pod Pralesem

The food was excellent, and our attic room at Penzion pod Pralesem was modest but clean, private, and perfectly adequate. The lady, probably the owner, was pleasant. It's a wooden guesthouse, so don't expect anything fancy, but it worked really well for an undemanding guest like me. I'd happily return after a great weekend. 😁 Breakfast was a buffet with scrambled eggs, sausages, ham, cheese, tomato, homemade frigáls, bread, and rolls. For drinks there was pre-brewed coffee, which was quite killer, sweetened black tea, and fruit water. My small gripe was the drinks setup. In mountain chalets we've stayed at, there's usually a jug of hot water, tea bags, and coffee tins so everyone can make their own. They could consider that here. For lunch we tried schnitzel with potatoes and gnocchi. The gnocchi were delicious and there was plenty, but the schnitzel was weaker, with a small portion after a day trip. The locally brewed beers were great choices. I recommend Kyseláč and Pralesník. 👍😄😍

We chose Penzion Pod Pralesem to celebrate our wedding day, in the beautiful Leskova Valley in Velké Karlovice, and the event went so well. Our guests liked the nicely furnished rooms, and we had lovely natural decorations prepared. We even stayed past the agreed time, which caused no problem. The lunch was excellent: pork tenderloin with pepper sauce and fried potatoes, a great broth with noodles and dumplings, and an excellent banquet. The staff deserve plenty of credit too. The service was incredible and nothing was a problem, the chef did a wonderful job, and the receptionist kept in touch with me throughout. The manager was lovely as well. Thank you for putting together such a beautiful event. We have wonderful memories and are very glad we chose Penzion Pod Pralesem. 🫶❤️🫶

The staff have a great attitude and are pleasant to deal with, so you feel comfortable here. The accommodation is nice and the location is peaceful. The restaurant cooks well, and Drdlik beer is perfect. 👍

A nice location, and fine for a night or two, but the room was very small and had no TV. It felt like they were running things in economy mode. Breakfast was served, but it was a weak selection for 800 a night. There were sausages, boiled eggs, salami, and cheese, and the coffee was okay. They used bad vegetable fat instead of butter, only had black tea at the bar rather than lemon tea, and offered no juice or water. They also didn't tell me cappuccino cost extra. I've had better breakfasts for that price.
