Would definitely come back. Loved this place.

We were meant to have 3 rooms, but the owner called to say only 2 were available, with a possible dormitory as another option. We kept the 2 rooms and, at his request, agreed to settle the difference financially outside the booking. Getting the compensation took over a month, and he eventually sent only 2/3 of the room price. His manner wasn't hostile, just ignorant, but given how little he sent, I see him as a fraud. The mistake was his, and I expected him to take the initiative to sort it out. Communication with the owner was dismal.

The rooms were clean, and both breakfast and the pizza dinner tasted great. We got really good service. At booking and early in our stay, the owners came across as a little slow, confused, and unsure, but we didn't let that put us off. They're nice, honest people.

We spent five days here and never got bored. The surrounding forest gave us plenty to do, and Melnik is a charming little town where the Vltava and Elbe meet, with a great view from the castle. Prague is about a 45-minute trip away, and there are bus connections too. This family-run place has a big heart for young and old, and for guests on two legs or four. Everyone gets a warm welcome, and whenever help is needed, they find a solution. It’s a lovely place to relax. If you like animals and good beer, you’ll feel at home here. We’d happily come back! 🫶🏼
