The rooms have seen better days, though they're fine for sleeping overnight. The receptionist, who also worked in the restaurant, was the one bright spot for me. Honestly, I don't understand why the rating is so high.

The food was delicious, and the lady who helped us with our stay was so kind and helpful. She even warmed up food for our youngest. At the restaurant, there was a children's table, a toy box, and a high chair. We were pleased with our accommodation, too: the room was clean enough that we were comfortable letting our ten-month-old crawl on the floor. We left breakfast full, shared dinner with our daughter, and packed the leftovers in a box. We bought the stay through Slevomat, with breakfast and dinner at Trichodov included. I'd worried a little after reading recent reviews, but everything was absolutely fine. The hallway had a fridge and kettle, which we appreciated, though a microwave would be useful. There isn't a cozy shared area, just a table and chairs by reception. A couch would make it nicer.

The location and parking were great, and the room had complimentary mineral water. The beds were fairly comfortable, and the lady there was nice. But the breakfast and cleaning were miserable. We bought the stay through Slevomat, with breakfast included. If we'd known what breakfast was like, we'd have gone to the Country pub instead, where a buffet with hot and cold food cost 150,- per person. We stuck to scrambled eggs because that was the biggest serving. My husband couldn't get enough from four mini sausages, and my daughter got just three sweet pancakes about 3.5 cm across, so she was hungry and we shared our eggs with her. There were no vegetables or anything else to go with breakfast. It might do in a pinch, but next time I'd eat at the pub and pay extra. The hotel restaurant only cooks sometimes, so we didn't get a proper meal there and can't rate the food. The room seemed not to have been used for a month. I forgot my allergy pills and thought I'd die from the dust and dust mites. The bathroom had a sealed door, and the place generally looked like it had seen better days. There was coffee and tea with a kettle in the hallway, and deep and shallow plates, but no microwave, so we only used them for chips. Shame about the microwave.

The room price included still water and fragrant toiletries, and everything was clean with excellent service. The Ukrainian food was excellent. Buď laska, the restaurant with the Ukrainian menu, is open to the public too. I recommend it if you enjoy unusual dishes and food experiences. There's also a beautiful view of the castle.
