The curtains were so thin that the floodlights aimed at the hotel lit up the room. I also found dirty, cigarette-burned rugs and an ashtray beneath the TV, despite the rooms being supposed to be non-smoking. There was a strong cigarette smell, too. The evening before my last night, the receptionist said I would need to pack and leave the room the next morning because some work was planned, but didn't explain what would happen after that. In the morning I was told I could spend my final night at a nearby hotel and would be given keys. I come to town regularly for work. This was my first stay here, and it'll be my last.

The corridors felt like a deathtrap, with more trip hazards than I've ever seen, and the elevator was shocking. Our room reeked of smoke. When we complained, we were told the elderly couple who'd stayed there before us had smoked, as though that made it okay. They said we could move rooms the next day. We weren't willing to wait. We checked out and didn't spend the night. This hotel is a disgrace.

The restaurant next door is good, and you can pay by card. The hotel itself is decent, nothing special, but fine. There aren't many choices in Žatec, just two other hotels, so Black Eagle is welcome :)
