Hotel LA PORT

After a long journey, we slept comfortably in the soft bed right through until morning. The hotel feels warm and comfortable, and the room had a safe, fridge and TV. Breakfast was delicious, with quick and polite service. Thank you!

The quiet spot is close to a few local wine cellars and makes a good base for a few days cycling the wine routes. It’s also easy to get to nearby Austrian villages and small towns. There’s dedicated bike storage that locks. We had a standard room, and there wasn’t much to like about it. The bed wasn’t especially comfortable, the room felt cramped and awkwardly laid out, and it had no atmosphere. It could have been cleaner, though it wasn’t bad. The toilet and shower were a decent size. There’s a bar with a small selection of good beers and decent wines, plus good espresso. You can order food too, which was okay but nothing special. Breakfast was good.

At 2:03 am, after paying the full bill, we were left with nowhere to stay and no one to help. We’d told them we would arrive late and had been sent the lockbox code for our room key, but both boxes were empty. I’d give this negative stars if I could.

The hotel itself was fine, and the ventilator in the room helped. There’s also a ping pong table downstairs in the breakfast room that guests can use for free. Breakfast was okay, but the other meals we tried at the restaurant were mostly disappointing: very basic food and small portions. I’d eat there only if there’s no other option.
