a&o Aachen Hauptbahnhof - Hostel

Being right beside the central station made getting to the hotel so easy, which was a big plus. The staff were all friendly, the rooms were lovely, and breakfast was delicious. I’d definitely consider staying here again.

Everything was clean, the staff were friendly, and it felt like good value. The doors are the one issue: they slam shut loudly instead of closing gently. On the third floor the sound seems especially noticeable, and it can make you jump when someone shuts one.

With two small kids, having our own bathroom and space in the family room was exactly what we needed. We weren’t looking for fancy extras, just clean beds, a shower, and a toilet, and that’s what we got. We were really pleased, and the breakfast was a welcome bonus, with a spread that was surprisingly good for the price. The room and breakfast for all of us cost less than half of what the other city hotels we checked would have charged, and those options didn’t include breakfast. For a family trying to keep costs down, the value was hard to beat. It’s a cheap hostel, so it’s nothing fancy and not in pristine shape. The thin windows let in street and train noise from the main station right next door. There’s no mini-fridge, coffee maker, or other extra room amenities. None of that was what we needed, though, and for the location and price, staying here with our family was an easy choice.

The room was comfortable, tidy, and clean, and the reception team were respectful and helpful throughout my visit. Taha stood out for handling things calmly and professionally. He speaks several languages, which makes it much easier for international guests to communicate and often means there’s no need for a translator. Thank you for a pleasant stay at a&o Hotels.
