Art Hotel Aachen Superior

We visited in October 2025 and found the rooms comfortable and well cared for. The location worked well for the sights we wanted to visit. Staff were warm and friendly, and the young man at the desk who had been an exchange student in the USA was especially professional and well mannered. He represents the hotel very well.

There’s a bus stop nearby for getting into town, and the receptionists were polite. My room had a kitchen and balcony, though there was no kettle or tea-making setup. The pool, sauna, and steam room were nice to have. It was a nice hotel.

It’s on the edge of Aachen, which makes the place quiet and close to parks and nature. The pool was nice, and there’s a sauna to relax in. Walking to the center takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

When I arrived in August 2025, I found several dead bugs in the room, including what looked like cockroaches, and saw a live one too. I took photos. It gave me the clear impression the room hadn’t been cleaned properly before I got there. I raised it with reception at 11:30 p.m. The staff member replied, “It’s Germany, we have insects, what do you want me to do?” He offered another room, but after that late arrival and having already inspected the first room, I didn’t want to go through it all again. At checkout, the offer was just €15 and a free bottle of water, and nobody apologized. I couldn’t rest properly, which affected the event I’d come for. The hygiene and service fell well short of what I expect from a 4-star hotel.
