The staff were helpful, though they weren’t always on the premises. The rooms had no airco, something to keep in mind when traveling during a heat wave. Parking was difficult to maneuver into, but I think that’s a German thing. 🙂 Excellent value for money.

After I raised the problems with the first room, I was moved to a larger, somewhat cleaner one for the rest of my stay. It was better, but still had dirty rugs, traces of mold in the shower, and a defective lavatory drain cap. The first room had been much worse: dirty linens, rugs and walls, visible mold in the shower corners, and an unimaginable amount of dirt and dust under the bed. It felt unhygienic and unwelcoming. I’d booked and paid for a double room, but was given what seemed like a small single room with a double bed. Exposed heating pipes carrying hot water to the other rooms made it unbearably hot, even with the room radiator off. The windows were open when I arrived, seemingly to deal with the heat, but avenue noise made it impossible to sleep that way. Around 11:00 p.m. I called customer service for help. The representative was dismissive and had no real suggestion beyond leaving the windows open in extremely cold weather. I had a terrible night and was exhausted for an important meeting the next day. I appreciate being moved, but the first night before my meeting, the poor customer service and the ongoing cleanliness issues soured the stay. I can’t recommend this hotel, especially to anyone with high cleanliness standards or who needs a restful night.

The bed was very comfortable, the staff were excellent, and the location is great for the Hauptbahnhof. One of the young men at the front desk even warned me that an upcoming train strike might affect my plans. But where am I supposed to keep my German beer cold? Every hotel room in 2023 should have a mini fridge.

The location is perfect, literally across the street from the train station, with food just 30 seconds away on foot. My room was small but decently clean. It was supposed to have a refrigerator, but didn’t, so I used the window ledge for my drinks since it was cold outside lol.
