We stopped by the Biergarten for dinner and drinks, and were really happy to have found it. The portions are generous, the fries are tasty, and the burger was really good. The atmosphere and service were enjoyable, with plenty of space for families at the chairs and benches. There’s also a lovely big playground right next to the seating area.

It takes a bit of a walk to get there, but it’s worth it, especially if you have children. The restaurant has a playground in the back gardens. The food is nice, though there isn’t much to choose from. If you’re lucky, they may still have locally shot wild meat.

We come here for lunch regularly. The pub food is fantastic, and the garden is ideal in summer.

The inn sits out in the woods on Aachen's outskirts, which makes it a handy base for riding the Vennbahn. I wouldn't choose it for a longer stay, though. We were there just one night: the room was good, the beds a little hard, and breakfast was basic, served in a friendly atmosphere.
